One of my clients, Paul, was an avid gardener. Paul spent every weekday evening and every weekend tending to his fabulous garden. He had every species of hosta and took great pride in his collection. Hostas have to be divided in order to continue to thrive and he would divide them each spring and give them to his neighbors and friends. When he died, each of his children and grandchildren received several small hostas which had been divided from the hostas he had lovingly planted and grown over the years.
The children and grandchildren all planted their hostas in their own yards and gardens and each year, they divide them and give them to their friends and their children. His gift will continue to grow and provide a legacy of beautiful plants for generations to come. You don’t have to be wealthy to leave a special legacy.
